BPX™ Ethanol Production Process
BPX™ is the cornerstone of POET’s proprietary, patented technologies and the premier Dakota Gold product. The BPX™ process allows production of ethanol without heating or “cooking” the mash to gelatinize the starch. The changes on the resultant DDG/S – although not completely understood – are profound. The Dakota Gold DDG/S product exhibits greatly improved physical characteristics such as higher density (improved storage/haul capability), more uniform particle size, and easier pelleting. Most importantly, the product exhibits enhanced flowability and improved nutrition as a result of less heat damage.
