Dakota Germ™
The high fat Dakota Germ™ is another co-product stream from the new bio-refining ethanol technology, BFRAC™. As the corn is milled prior to fermentation, the germ enriched fraction becomes available as a feedstuff for animal production. Also, since the germ fraction contains the most preferred proteins in the corn kernel, the amino acid profile is quite desirable despite a moderate protein level. The Dakota Germ fraction has not been through fermentation so the oil is in its native state.
